About Abi Blyth

I'm an artist / maker based near Edinburgh, producing handmade pottery, beaded jewellery, paintings and screenprints.  I'm also an occasional photographer, fledgling upholsterer and sewer of loud, flamboyant trousers.

During COVID lockdown I retired accidentally from my engineering job of nearly 30 years.  Now I live a creative arty life, fully departed from the ratrace and the 9-5 daily grind.  It's been a liberating experience!

I was a global nomad for most of my working career, living on 4 different continents and travelling extensively across this vibrant, extraordinary planet.

I've constantly been inspired by the diversity of cultures, by the beauty of nature and most of all, by the colours and vibrancy of the world. These aspects continue to influence my art practice every day.

I've studied art whenever my schedule allowed - this has included design certificate courses at the University of Calgary and extensive crafty dabblings at the fantastic facilities of Gray's School of Art, Alberta College of Art & Design, Leith School of Art and Edinburgh Printmakers.

I hope you enjoy my colourful creations!  Please get in touch if you would like further information, or would like to purchase or commission a piece of ceramics, jewellery, photography or artwork.
